Sunnylady and I had our second paint date yesterday!
We both decided on an African based scenery in oils on a high quality 16"x20" canvas, a 14"x20" for Sunnylady. We only had a photo to guide us but some preparation by Sunnylady and her sharp eyes and intuition for colors helped us a lot.
Some coffee made me forget the early morning hour (7:00am) when we started our creative endeavour that ended litle over 3,5 hours of paint, sweat and laughs later.
I learned how to use different mediums then liquid white or liquid clear by using an own mixed medium. The clouds were very daring and with lots of help, I kinda managed to paint something descent there which was a big relief . I went a bit goofy with the grass and found pleasure in dropping quite some boulders in there. Highlighting grass, tree and boulders were Sunnylady's inspiration, as well as putting some birds in it!

It was mentioned before by us that we can highly recommend painting together. Not only for the companianship and the warmth of painting together, but also for the way one can learn from each other.
I learned so much from you Sunnylady, and really gained confidence for future artistic adventures!
Please check Sunnylady's creation and mine and tell us what you think of it in our comment boxes, as well as on the forum!!

I cannot thank enough my precious darling friend, for giving me the best day so far in 2021. You are such an outstanding tutor, companion and paint buddy!

An additional picture was uploaded to show the difference of this painting after some 16 days of drying!

I am so happy we took this journey to investigate and challenge ourselves with this painting!

It said it before and will say it again ... best day of the year and it will stand on top for a long time!
We really match being creative!

I agree with Tom. This just screams for an implementation on twoinchbrush.com! I'm sure there would be a lot of fantastic information passed on to the community

I'll do some brainstorming, and if anyone else has an idea, the forums or my emails are always open!

Voy, yesterday sky looked a bit more purple. I am surprised it got a bit to greenish side - it looks better with this color and i totally love that soft transition from your great pech color to blue.
Mountain today looks even further! a lot of space here!

I already selected one for our next date. I will be able to guide you through that seascape, but you will be able to see the video before hand on mute or maybe quickly learn Russian as your next foreign language :)

Beautiful ❤

Thanks friend Tom! We learned so much the way we challenged this creation.
We only hope other people will follow our footsteps.

The idea on how this was approached is still fresh Felix. It is a BIG assett to see/learn from two people with different styles who painted the same creation.

To be continued!

Sunnylady, it is indeed a fact that the colors changed overnight! I zoomed in at my creation today and was stunned by those little things I did that hardly show from a distance.
I learned so much!

Next creation .... I feel so special and happy that you invited me for a third paint date. I will gladly and proudly accept this honourable invitation!!

@GunaM, we really would love that other members take the same initiative as we do, since we are very aware it does create a wonderful friendship/co-operation as well as a tremendous learning and social augmentation.

Thanks for liking our adventure!!

Voy what a lovely success for you and Sunnylady! I love this creation. Quite a stunning sky you created. The highlights on your tree look great, I can feel the warmth of the sun reflecting there. I love comparing yours and Sunnylady's!

The peachy red shades in the sky are so beautiful! You work very well together.

Thank you Heather! Sharing a creation was one thing, having the company of each other while creating was another. Both gave us so much value! WIth Sunnylady, you always learn!

Yes FVG, I went very soft, more pastelled with my sky. The secret was the careful blending by tapping, so not the criss cross method from Bob. Sunnylady learned me this.

It is true that Sunnylady and myself do match on many levels, we are very happy for that. Can you imagine us in an art studio side by side? That would be the day!!

Beautiful!

Thanks Froggie! Best of this creation was of course the warmth and friendship shared while painting this together! That's worth a million!

This is such a nice painting. I just love the sun/sky. Your tree is so nice too. A great together job with Sunnylady.

It's one of the best things in an artistic life LJM, having a paint buddy and Sunnylady really is TOP!

This pianting has gone better and better with drying!
I might take an additional picture soon and post it here!

So indeed, and additional picture was taken and uploaded, 16 days after it was painted.
Notice the difference there, it got much softer in colouring.

Voy, You are the best and adventurous paint buddy!
I still have not checked mine. Overwhelmed with home chores and work. You got me intrigued. I will sure do so at weekend when I move it to the IKEA stand to let it be with other paintings.

Dear Sunnylady, like Indiana Jones, I would take on any adventure with you by my side!

Let us know please how it turned out, I am anxious about it, as are other fans!

Okay , I posted and it seems that lighting on my photo was better and glare even it is still there it is way less now. I think mine stayed the same and camera made the difference. I think that hickup with the medium is a reason to blame or to like. I cant decide yet. :)
